Fiji
Transparent island of light - Milan, Italy 2020
Fiji is a suspension lamp designed by Mandalaki Studio for Cangini&Tucci that combines the glass elegance with the numeric control technique of aluminum workout. The basic concept is converting in volume the intangibility of the light. A bubble of frosted glass is included inside an elliptical shape of transparent glass. This combination gives the perception of profundity and at the same time it allows to refract the light towards the exterior surfaces. This is also a solution that makes the lamp extremely functional, as well as metaphysical from a perceptive point of view.
The fundamental element is a new aluminum heatsink made in CNC, expressly designed by Mandalaki studio in order to obtain the desired light effect. It contains inside itself the main mechanical and electrical functions: it is where the high power led, the dissipation system, the wiring and the fastening system for the components are located. The result is an extremely compact and functional element, lacking of unnecessary visible parts.
The Fiji family is composed by three different sizes and three different types of application: suspended, free standing, and wall-mounted. It is possible to order the Kiri system in three different finishes: Clear, Matte Black, Bronze.
